Hueco Tanks State Park is located approximately 40 miles northeast of El Paso, Texas near the New Mexico border. Hueco Tanks is popular with climbers. Peak season is during winter and around holiday weekends. The park includes a small campground with sites that have water only or water and electric. Campground hosts are stationed onsite.

A bathhouse is located near the campground and does include a shower. Expect to wait during busy times. Trash cans are provided at the campsites, and each site has a picnic table and pavilion shelter. Sites are spacious for an established campground.

Visitors are required to watch an orientation video in order to camp, hike, or climb at Hueco Tanks. Guided tours are available, while portions of the park are also open for self-guided hikes.

Reservations are accepted and may be necessary during peak season. Campers must arrive at least one hour before the park closes to register and attend the orientation.
