The Almost Awesome Sunrise
It looked for sure like it would be an amazing sunrise...
Sometimes you're just sure the light is going to be amazing. We were camped on BLM land in south-central Wyoming while making our way south in October. As dawn began to break, the eastern sky lit up with an orange glow and just enough clouds and mist that it appeared we were in for a treat.
The color lasted only a moment, before we were greeted with a new surprise.
Heavy fog suddenly rolled in and completely obscured the sunrise. The fog lasted until well past sunrise when the sun finally burned it away.
Despite the "spoiled" sunrise, the morning fog was also beautiful. In a way, we may have enjoyed the best scenario of seeing a moment of sunrise color and then the morning fog.
